The Role

The successful Controls Engineering Manager is a self-starter with a can-do attitude who will complete complex projects, assign  projects to teams and monitor results while performing technical support to marketing, sales, and/or other departments. Assesses and carries out completion of projects and performs project organization, definition, planning, implementation and control. This role will establish and prepare technical standards, complex technology design theory and procedures.  This position requires travel of about 25-35%, with some of that travel taking place over a weekend. The manager will be involved with the technical aspects of the project including design reviews, marking up/reviewing drawings, assisting in testing, reviewing PLC coding, hardware component specification, and supporting commissioning.  All of our Engineering Managers at Dematic are both technical (project orientated) and administrative.

  • Analyzes and understands impact of decisions on business operations.
  • Supports and develops departmental budgets and business plans for projects.
  • Analyzes technology, resource needs and project timelines, to plan and ensure the success of all projects.
  • Appraises and recommends changes in methods or procedures.
  • Identifies and resolves complex problems.
  • Responsible for overall success of team or projects.

What We Are Looking For

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in an Engineering discipline is required 
  • Masters degree is a plus

Strengths You'll Need

  • Advocates and recommends change in processes and/or procedures to improve processes, projects and team.
  • Anticipates trends, problems and enthusiastically searches for resolutions.
  • Demonstrates and applies broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for managed work group(s) and how it supports related operations.
  • Requires excellent written and oral english skills.
  • Ability to communicate openly and non judgmentally and demonstrate strong listening skills, while offering support and inspiration to team.
  • 5+ years working in a similar industry. Supply Chain Industry a plus.
  • You will guide a team of 6-10 engineers and will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of team.
  • Prior success managing a multi-disciplined team.
  • Lead with integrity and be respectful to others.
