The Role

Dematic, a KION operating unit, has an immediate need for a Product Manager specializing in order fulfillment systems in our Atlanta (preferred) office. This role will guide the order fulfillment systems under his/her responsibility as a mini-CEO within Dematic. The product manager understands the market needs of the customers, drives competitive products through their lifecycle ensuring quality and safety as well as trains internal Dematic customers enabling them to be successful with the product line..

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates market research regarding competitor activity and customer needs
  • Establishes market-based pricing strategies
  • Supports sales initiatives to achieve order intake targets
  • Coordinates engineering disciplines to build standard solution development tools
  • Leads development of new business plans, managing lifecycles, quality control and product positioning in the marketplace
  • Plans companywide training programs targeting sales, concepting and execution
  • Contributes to structured product marketing plans from broad concepts and business strategies
  • Supports integration of products and technology into larger solutions

Key Working Relationships:

  • Manage the responsibilities outlined in this document and report to a director of product management, focused on order fulfillment systems
  • Key contributor to the order fulfillment team consisting of 7-10 individuals
  • Provides direction to non-direct reports in other areas of the company such as sales, solution development, marketing, product development, and engineering
    • Typically, no direct reports
  • Role interacts with individuals on a global basis in typical day to day functions

What We Are Looking For

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Demonstrates and applies broad knowledge of product management concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with product management role
    • Demonstration of responsibilities and knowledge as presented above
  • Knowledge of complex systems and the interconnectivity between mechanics, machine control logic and WCS execution software
  • Experience in the material handling industry
