This position will function one of the Senior Technicians at the site.Senior Technicians shall have the following minimum qualifications and responsibilities:- Electromechanical skills, troubleshooting skills with PLC controls, servos, and other discrete electrical control components.- Five years maintenance experience with electromechanical equipment experience is preferred.- Must have the ability to connect a maintenance PC to a PLC and step through and understand the PLC program to troubleshoot complex controls failures, and make minor code changes under the direction of Engineering.Key responsibilities shall include but not be limited to:1. Practice safe work habits and abide by the safety rules in accordance with the safety policies set forth by our client. 2. Provide electromechanical corrective repairs and preventative maintenance. 3. Log all service work performed, downtime during repair, and account for equipment service requests. 4. Dematic Corporation is now hiring for a Regional Field Service Technician. Under the direction of the Field Service Manager, this position provides service and repair as well as service and maintenance training for installed Dematic systems and equipment. As the Dematic representative in the Customer's facility, this position has a heavy responsibility for maintaining customer goodwill toward Dematic. Primary objective is to ensure that Dematic systems have the greatest availability possible for Customer use and to ensure that Customers are satisfied with their Dematic system and equipment. This role can be based anywhere throughout North America, preferably by nearby airport for travel. Qualifications:- Trade school graduate or two year Associates degree in a mechanical, electrical, or mechanical technician program. Bachelors degree in Engineering preferred.- Two years (minimum) experience in troubleshooting electromechanical and/or mechanical equipment. Successful candidate must have some working experience with material handling equipment. Service experience with- AGVS, AS/RS, or conveyors is highly prized.- Must be willing to travel on short notice and spend more than 80% of the time traveling. May be continuously away from home for as long as a month (offer travel expenses).- Must be willing to be availible during off hours and travel accordingly.- Willingness to work weekends, holidays and off shifts.- Must be able to act calmly in stressful situations.- Must be able to write concise, clear, and complete trip reports in the time frame required according to Dematic procedures.- Must have knowledge in the use of personal computers for word processing, data base functions and communications.
