This is an exciting opportunity within Global Mobility and opportunity to scale up mobility operations in a growing project-oriented organization. The primary objective of the Global Mobility Manager - Americas is to work with key stakeholders to develop a strong mobility function which provides clear and consistent advice on global mobility across Dematic. Dematic Corporation is now hiring for a Regional Field Service Technician. Under the direction of the Field Service Manager, this position provides service and repair as well as service and maintenance training for installed Dematic systems and equipment. As the Dematic representative in the Customer's facility, this position has a heavy responsibility for maintaining customer goodwill toward Dematic. Primary objective is to ensure that Dematic systems have the greatest availability possible for Customer use and to ensure that Customers are satisfied with their Dematic system and equipment. This role can be based anywhere throughout North America, preferably by nearby airport for travel. Qualifications:- Trade school graduate or two year Associates degree in a mechanical, electrical, or mechanical technician program. Bachelors degree in Engineering preferred.- Two years (minimum) experience in troubleshooting electromechanical and/or mechanical equipment. Successful candidate must have some working experience with material handling equipment. Service experience with- AGVS, AS/RS, or conveyors is highly prized.- Must be willing to travel on short notice and spend more than 80% of the time traveling. May be continuously away from home for as long as a month (offer travel expenses).- Must be willing to be availible during off hours and travel accordingly.- Willingness to work weekends, holidays and off shifts.- Must be able to act calmly in stressful situations.- Must be able to write concise, clear, and complete trip reports in the time frame required according to Dematic procedures.- Must have knowledge in the use of personal computers for word processing, data base functions and communications. Senior Technicians shall have the following minimum qualifications and responsibilities:- Electromechanical skills, troubleshooting skills with PLC controls, servos, and other discrete electrical control components.- Five years maintenance experience with electromechanical equipment experience is preferred.- Must have the ability to connect a maintenance PC to a PLC and step through and understand the PLC program to troubleshoot complex controls failures, and make minor code changes under the direction of Engineering. Key responsibilities shall include but not be limited to: 1. Practice safe work habits and abide by the safety rules in accordance with the safety policies set forth by our client. 2. Provide electromechanical corrective repairs and preventative maintenance. 3. Log all service work performed, downtime during repair, and account for equipment service requests. 4. Work in cooperation as a team with the 3PL warehouse operators. 5. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Management, Data Scientists and Quality Assurance to design, develop and deploy software solutions within the warehouse distribution space.  This position will also provide support and technical advice during conceptualization, development, and implementation phases to transform requirements to working solutions.  Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Contribute to software design and architecture, including design reviews - Develop high-quality code along with automated unit tests for cloud-based and self-hosted SaaS products - Contribute to integration, system, and performance testing, including test tools - Take ownership as a highly motivated member of a scrum team - Assist with troubleshooting customer problems and finding solutions in a timely fashion - Write test cases within an automated test framework for development projects - Work within a Scrum environment to plan and deliver incremental software in defined sprints - Build strong partnerships with UX designers, Software Developers, and Product Managers - Develop software with Java EE for projects - Provide technical support to customers on-site - Train customers and key-users on installed applications - Maintain excellent relationships with all internal and external customers through provision of high-quality service - Work within an Agile environment - Travel to site during software commissioning phases to ensure that integration testing and site acceptance testing is completed as required - Perform presentation(s) of complex technical findings and developments to internal and external customers - Design database schemas and contribute to database performance tuning - Provide mentorship and training to software team - Travel is approximately ~20%
